Pokémon GO: Overpriced event tickets frustrate players

The Pokémon GO community has a bone to pick with the organizers of this year’s events. Many complain about the ticket prices.

How expensive will the Pokémon GO Fest 2022 in Berlin be?

Niantic is currently heavily criticized by the Pokémon GO community. Apart from the regular Pokémon GO Fest 2022, there are other events taking place this year. For these, players have to travel to certain cities if they want to participate, such as too to Berlin.

The event is scheduled to take place from July 1 to 3, 2022 in the Britzer Garden in Berlin. The problem for many: the high ticket prices. In order to take part in the event, visitors have to pay just under 25 euros. But then there are additional services for which Niantic even more money want to see.

An early access ticket costs a whopping 32 euros. The function of the special card? You get access to the event two hours before everyone else. Players can book other add-ons for just under 10 euros. For example, one should hatch eggs four times faster. Another gives you 12 Raid Passes and greater rewards for successful raids. (Source: Pokemon GO)

What do the players say about this?

The Pokémon community doesn’t seem too happy about the event’s pricing policy. The announcement at least caused heated debates on Reddit. Some players think that 25 to 42 euros for one day is too much money.

Other fans, on the other hand, try to justify the pricing by saying that the Berlin event players busy throughout the day target. The cost of 25 to 42 therefore fits perfectly into the budget for a day trip.

Nevertheless, the critical voices outweigh those who would like the add-ons in particular to be part of the normal event for everyone. (Source: Reddit / TheSilphRoad)

The Pokémon brand is extremely good at making money. Not only Pokémon GO, but also other games have raked in a lot of money. You can read about the brand’s most successful games in the following photo gallery:
