Announced three months ago, during Pokémon Presents in February, we only knew that the ninth generation would be released at the end of 2022. Being an opus of the main series, it was then logical that the latter would come out in November, like its predecessors, and the trailer for this Wednesday, June 1, actually confirmed it to us. A trailer also strong in emotions since it not only presented us with the new region, new Pokémon, the two main Legendaries or even some nice characters.
Release Date, Price, Covers and Pre-Orders
Pokémon Scarlet and Purple will be available on Friday, November 18, 2022, worldwide, exclusively on Nintendo Switch. If no information has yet been revealed on the pre-order bonuses, the trailer however ended with the presentation of the two covers of the game with the Legendaries. You can then choose between:
- Koraidon : exclusive to the Scarlet version
- Miraidon : exclusive to the Purple version
We don’t know much about them at the moment, except that one seems primitive (Koraidon) and the other much more futuristic (Miraidon). This is only theory but it seems that the scenario of this new opus focuses on the duality between tradition and modernity.
On the official Pokémon site, it is already possible to pre-order both versions: either individually or in a pack bringing together the two opuses:

Pokémon Scarlet and Purple: Introducing Generation 9
This new opus will be the very first game of the license to be a open world complete: that is to say that you will be able to freely explore the region, from biomes to biomes, without any cuts. Moreover, it will be possible to play solo but also with three other players if you wish it. The details of the multiplayer mode are not yet known but the official site indicates that it will be possible to explore, trade and fight up to 4 players. Also for the first time, the choice of the version, Scarlet or Purple, will not only influence the main Legendary but also the Teacher who will guide us along our adventure.
As this is a brand new region, inspired by Spain and Portugal, new creatures will obviously be available. We do not know if the National Pokédex complete will be there but this will probably not be the case with the more than 900 Pokémon currently invented.
