WARSAW (Reuters) – Poland has signed an agreement to purchase anti-tank grenade launchers from Sweden’s Saab for around 6.5 billion zlotys (1.51 billion euros), the Polish minister announced Defense Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz.

Poland will devote nearly 4% of its gross domestic product (GDP) to defense this year, in the context of the war between Russia and Ukraine.

“The Polish armed forces will receive anti-tank grenade launchers produced in Sweden, and we are allocating about 6.5 billion zlotys for this purpose,” Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz said at a press conference, adding that this armament had made proof of its effectiveness in Ukraine.

The agreement concerns the Carl-Gustaf M4 grenade launcher, intended to combat all types of modern combat vehicles.
