Let Loose: Apple renovates its Magic Keyboard and the Apple Pencil Pro

The Magic Keyboard, Apple’s usual keyboard, is getting a new version intended to make the keyboard-tablet duo a product similar to the MacBook. To do this, Apple adds to its accessory, refined for the occasion, a row of function buttons which allow you to quickly adjust the volume and screen brightness. It also provides an enlarged trackpad, on the side of which there is an aluminum wrist rest. The accessory retains its magnetic connection, its suspended design, and offers the USB-C connector, now essential in the Cupertinian ecosystem. To accompany one of the new iPad Pros with one of these keyboards, available in white or black, count on the trifle of €349 (11 inches) or €399 (13 inches).

Also expected since it appeared at the center of the visual accompanying the Let Loose conference planned by Apple, the Pencil Pro also gains a new version. This stylus allows you to make the most of the potential of the iPad Pro 2024 for which it is reserved. It always attaches to their edge and obtains a magnetic charge there. The novelty is to be found elsewhere, because as anticipated by the rumor, the stylus gains a pinching gesture on its case.

By pressing it, therefore, it becomes possible to trigger predefined actions depending on the apps, for example changing tools in image editing software. It will be up to the developers to exploit the option. Haptic feedback accompanies the gesture to signal that it has been taken into account; it is also used to indicate the Double Touch gesture and Smart Shape, which uses the gyroscope included in the stylus to better take into account its orientation.

In short, this Apple Pencil Pro adds remote functions to the usual stylus, which come at a high price of €149.
