Police checks – drug traffickers pulled out of traffic in Salzburg

During a focus check, the police in the city of Salzburg pulled three drug drivers out of circulation on Saturday. Another was caught in Pinzgau. The driver’s license was taken away from the men caught and corresponding reports were filed.

A 27-year-old caught the eye of a civil patrol in the area of the “Salzburg-West” motorway exit in the afternoon. The test for THC was positive, which the driver justified by consuming about four joints at a party about a week ago. The medical officer then determined that he was unfit to drive. At the same time, a 33-year-old man from Upper Austria was stopped with his car on the Linz federal highway. The vehicle had apparently been tuned. During the check, officers found that the driver was intoxicated. He too had tested positive for THC. On the Innsbruck federal highway, the police met an aggressive drug driver in a souped-up car in the evening hours. The man proved to be incorrigible because he had only recently been reported for the unauthorized conversions. The 24-year-old from Flachgau was apparently under the influence of drugs and refused a test. Only when the medical officer determined a clear impairment did the young man admit to having consumed cocaine the day before. Late in the evening, a 23-year-old in Kaprun was targeted by the traffic police. The Pinzgauer admitted to having consumed a cannabis product.
