Another terrible case of animal cruelty has occurred in Carinthia. After several horses and a cat were tortured to death this year, a sheep was hit this time.
The terrible act is said to have happened on September 5th. A farmer found his dead sheep on a pasture fenced off by an electric fence in the municipality of Lurnfeld in the district of Spittal an der Drau. “An official veterinarian was consulted. He confirmed that the animal was killed with an unknown, massive object,” said a police officer to “Krone”. The sheep died from severe injuries in the skull area. The perpetrator has not yet been caught, but investigations are ongoing. There is currently no connection to the cruelty to animals a few months ago.
