According to the police, 38 demonstrations had been reported for Saturday, nine of which were banned and one gathering was rejected. Among other things, a rally of the MFG on Schwarzenbergplatz has been announced. Since this weekend – this time the shops are also open on Sunday – increased traffic and an influx of people were generally expected, there were talks with the organizers of the demos to refrain from mobile protest trains. “As a result of these negotiations, there will be several stand rallies in the inner-city area,” said the Vienna police on Friday, who are again deployed with a large number of forces. Demonstrations by opponents of the measures have also been announced in other Austrian cities on Saturday, for example in Innsbruck as well as in Klagenfurt. # YesWeCareA silent campaign, which is supposed to set an example against division, hate speech and radicalization, will also take place on Sunday. From 6.30 p.m. there will be a chain of lights on Wiener Ring in memory of the victims of the pandemic and to show solidarity with the health workers.
