Police operation completed in the Bercy district of Paris

The neighborhood had been completely cordoned off, Sunday at the end of the day, while the police were mobilized for a neighborhood dispute which would have degenerated. Finally, the apartment invested by the BRI was empty.

We feared the worst. The Bercy district in Paris (12th arrondissement) was cordoned off by the police at the end of the day on Sunday for an impressive police operation. The men of the Paris research and intervention brigade (BRI) intervened at 118, rue de Bercy, suspecting at least one armed man of having taken refuge. According to a police source, law enforcement was called into a dispute between neighbors involving an individual with “a long gun”.

While access to the metro was closed and the neighborhood cordoned off, the BRI ended up entering the building around 9 p.m. Sunday evening. But the police ended up discovering an apartment… empty. Wrong information? Telephone prank? Or did the suspect(s) have time to leave the scene before the police intervention? All hypotheses are on the table and the investigation will have to determine what really happened. In the meantime, the neighborhood is breathing again.

Update this Monday at 9 a.m. with the results of the police intervention and the lifting of the device.
