The police cordoned off the Federal Palace in Bern on Tuesday evening because of a suspicious object outside the building. The federal lane is also closed.
The report about the item was received around 5:30 p.m., a spokeswoman for the cantonal police in Bern told the Keystone-SDA news agency.
Further information was not available for the time being.
According to police information, there are still people in the Bundeshaus who can leave the building. A police robot is in use in front of the Federal Palace, as an on-site inspection showed.
The autumn session will take place in the Federal Palace from September 12th to 30th.
