Spring is awakening in Germany, the first blossoms are appearing and the first clouds of barbecue are wafting through neighborhoods and allotment gardens. There and in many domestic gardens and balconies people are already busy planting, hoeing and digging. With these apps, smartphone owners are prepared for the activities of spring.

Whether you want to be in the garden or in your hiking boots, on a bike or at the barbecue: the weather has to cooperate with everything. The classics “WetterOnline” (Android/iOS), “AccuWeather” (Android/iOS) and “Wetter.de” (Android/iOS). Users can find precise forecasts about the course of storms and the expected wind strength here as well as in the specialist “Windy” (Android/iOS), which even shows individual lightning strikes in the event of thunderstorms. All four apps are available free of charge for Android and Apple devices.

For many people, a real time of suffering begins in the spring. Because when hazelnuts and co. start to bloom, allergy sufferers get a runny nose and itchy eyes. So that you can at least adapt to the respective situation a little, there are a large number of pollen radar apps, some of which come from health insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies. The Bavarian state government offers “ePIN – Pollenflug Bayern” (Android/iOS) to the Techniker Krankenkasse the application “Husteblume” (Android/iOS) and Ratiopharm its “Pollen Radar” (Android/iOS). A pollen count map is also integrated into the “WetterOnline” app. The basic function of all of these apps is free of charge and offers the option of telling the app your location in order to automatically receive information about the current pollen count.
