Director Yorgos Lanthimos gives us a modern, feminist reinterpretation of the “Frankenstein” story with “Poor Things”. The adaptation of Alasdair Gray’s novel “Poor Things” follows Bella Baxter, who is revived by a scientist and seeks her fortune in 19th century England.

Even though “Poor Things” is certainly not suitable for children due to its sex and violence, this fairytale story is Lanthimos’ most commercial film to date. Excellent reviews and 4 Oscars speak for themselves: “Poor Things” is a hit! You can now convince yourself of the film’s qualities on Disney+.
