Pop-up store as a prize – competition for new impulses: The way to business

The city wants to set new impulses with the KWF in the city center: For this reason, the competition “My idea – my shop” is being announced for the third time. The winners can try out their business idea in a pop-up store. The previous winners are already running their own business.

An interesting mix of shops and gastronomy offers is an important driver of footfall in city centers. As part of a competition, the city of Villach wants to make the business areas even more colorful. Together with the Carinthian Economic Development Fund (KWF), future-oriented and creative business ideas are being sought for the third time. Future entrepreneurs who are considering starting their own business for the first time or want to try out a product or a new location are in demand. The application phase will extend over six weeks between January and March 2022. A jury will decide on the submitted projects and evaluate them according to aspects such as sustainability and the prospect of long-term settlement in the city center and a store opening by May 2022. The winners can prove themselves in a shop in the city center. The city also provides support with rental and operating costs. The two previous winners, Isabella Hold and Friedrun Natmessnig, were able to gain a foothold with their business ideas. More information about the new competition is available online.
