(CercleFinance.com) – Porsche announces that it has developed next-generation lighting technology with new high-resolution HD matrix technology.
The central element of the innovation – created in collaboration with partners – is a chip that combines more than 16,000 individually controllable micro-LEDs on a surface the size of a thumbnail.
Two chips are used for each headlight, providing up to twice as bright high-resolution light distribution over four times the area of previous high-end systems.
The manufacturer has also developed ‘innovative features such as lane lighting, construction and narrow lane lighting and adaptive highway high beams’ and states that ‘high performance high beam lights transform the night daytime up to 600 meters away’.
