(dpa) The power went out on the Danish Baltic Sea island of Bornholm. A fault in the high-voltage grid meant that consumers on the island had been without electricity since 7:49 a.m. on Monday, the state transmission system operator Energinet said in the morning. Around 10:30 a.m., two thirds of the households were supplied again, the rest should follow until midday.
The cause of the error is still unknown, and they are working flat out to find the problem, according to the authority responsible for the overall operation of the electricity and gas system in Denmark.

At the end of September, a total of four underwater leaks were found in the two Nord Stream pipelines near Bornholm, from which enormous amounts of gas escaped for days. According to the authorities, at least two explosions under water have occurred before. The EU and NATO assume sabotage. The Kremlin had dismissed speculation about Russian participation as “stupid and absurd”.
