Fruit, vegetables, fish and meat can be preserved for a long time with a dehydrator – all nutrients and vitamins are retained.
The preservation method is not all that new: warm air is used to remove water from the food, causing fruit, vegetables, etc. to dry out slowly and gently. This procedure removes so much moisture that bacteria don’t stand a chance. Most of the food is dried at a temperature of 40 to 60 degrees. Higher temperatures would destroy the structure of the food.
