Dramatic scenes took place in Seedorf UR on Friday. A stroller and baby rolled into the Reuss. A courageous intervention of a woman prevented worse.

On Friday, a stroller with a baby rolled into the Reuss.
The woman with the stroller was able to save the baby by jumping into the cold water.
The baby and the woman had to be taken to the hospital.
On Friday, a woman was walking with a three-month-old baby in a pram on the Reussdamm in Seedorf. According to the first investigations, she briefly parked the stroller in the Wyerallmend area. The pram then rolled unnoticed from the dam into the Reuss.
Rescuer intervened immediately
There the toddler was carried through the water from the overturned stroller and carried by the current. When the family acquaintance noticed what was happening, she immediately ran after the child, jumped into the Reuss and was able to save it from the river. A motorist who happened to be driving by drove the woman and the injured child to the cantonal hospital in Uri, where medical first aid was given.
The baby was then flown to a hospital outside the canton in an Alpine Air Ambulance helicopter. The woman involved in the accident suffered minor injuries during the rescue operation.
Reuss was only 0.9 degrees at this point
