Presence of the RN at the march against anti-Semitism: “The controversy only served the RN”, believes Darmanin

The march was intended to be historic. On Sunday, nearly 180,000 people marched in the streets to denounce the rise of anti-Semitism in France since the start of the conflict between Israel and Hamas. Repeated tags, Nazi chants in the metro… The acts have multiplied in recent weeks and are worrying the French Jewish community and the political class.

A controversial presence

Almost all parties were present this weekend in the Parisian procession, including the National Rally. A presence which did not fail to cause controversy, particularly given the history of the party created by Jean-Marie Le Pen, condemned in the 90s for his comments on the gas chambers used during the Second World War.

Invited this Tuesday morning on the set of La Grande interview Europe 1-CNews, the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin does not wish to dwell on the presence of the RN. “I think that the controversy surrounding the presence of the leaders of the national gathering only serves the national gathering,” he believes at the microphone of Sonia Mabrouk.
