Presidential 2022: Macron will hold his first meeting on April 2



Un first meeting just over a week before the first round of the presidential election. According to information from several media, including our colleagues from Franceinfo, Emmanuel Macron will hold his first campaign meeting on April 2, in Paris. Due to the geopolitical crisis in Ukraine, the presidential candidate had been forced to cancel his presence at the Marseille rally on March 12.

Until then, alternating his agendas as president and candidate, Emmanuel Macron is going to Pau on Friday, for a campaign trip where he will exchange with residents, in the stronghold of his ally François Bayrou, his team said on Tuesday. This meeting with readers selected by the newspapers Sud-Ouest and La République des Pyrénées will take place at the Palais Beaumont, in the presence of the mayor of Pau and president of the MoDem, a faithful since 2017. No debate with the other candidates

Emmanuel Macron then again favored his role as head of state, welcoming his EU counterparts last Thursday and Friday at a European summit in Versailles, dominated by the Russian invasion.
