Presidential 2022: Marine Le Pen holds a last meeting this evening in Arras, on unconquered ground

The day after the long-awaited debate between the two rounds where she had to stand up to Emmanuel Macron, the candidate of the National Rally for the presidential election, Marine Le Pen, is holding this evening in Arras, in Pas-de-Calais , his last campaign meeting, before the second round on Sunday.

If Hauts-de-France is her favorite region, the choice is not without risk for the finalist for the supreme office.

Indeed, despite the fact that Arras is located not far from Hénin-Beaumont, one of the strongholds of the National Rally, the inhabitants had preferred Emmanuel Macron there during the first round of April 10.

The outgoing president had thus won 29.48% of the vote against 24.61% of the vote for Marine Le Pen.

The reception is also likely to be hectic. According to La Voix du Nord, several demonstrations, including a “citizen and transpartisan rally against far-right ideas”, in the words of the organizers, are already planned.

As for the debate last night, Marine Le Pen’s objective will of course be to try to rally as many voters as possible behind her.

Carry the word to the end

Mission that she also intends to accomplish to the end since she will make a final trip tomorrow, Friday, near Abbeville, in the Somme.

On the program: visit to a market, meeting with residents and a micro-tense, according to his campaign team.

For his part, his opponent Emmanuel Macron is also resuming travel today and tomorrow, with a final meeting this Friday in Figeac, in the Lot.

This last appointment, on the last day of the official campaign, still remained to be confirmed this morning.
