The app launched just two weeks ago and has already been downloaded several hundred thousand times. “Elyze” is the project of two students who want to get young people interested in politics, while the first round of the presidential election takes place in three months.
How to get young people to take an interest in politics? How to make them also feel concerned by the current presidential campaign? These questions, two students try to answer with an application they have just launched: “Elyze”. With one objective in particular, to make the candidates’ proposals more accessible.
The presidential Tinder
“Elyze” is a bit like the presidential Tinder. This is how Grégoire Gazcarra presents the application he co-created. And it is true that it takes up the codes of dating applications. For the user, the principle is very simple. “He accesses proposals and he can swipe, that is to say slide his finger to the left or to the right depending on whether he is for or against the proposal. And based on these votes, the algorithm calculates his level of compatibility with different candidates and generates a ranking as to which you are closest and furthest away, ”he explains.
Scrolling through fifty proposals will already allow you to identify a first trend. But for the co-founder of “Elyze”, the application first meets another objective, that of highlighting the programs of presidential candidates. “The goal is not to take a position for a candidate but to help each user better understand his level of proximity and support for the proposals made by each of the candidates for the presidential election,” he continues. .
The application will evolve over the course of the campaign, in particular to adapt to new proposals made by candidates. Launched just a week ago, it has already been downloaded over 200,000 times.
