The Reconquest! candidate, Éric Zemmour, went a step further on Monday in his fight against immigration, saying he wanted to create “a ministry of remigration”. A concept that is reminiscent of Nicolas Sarkozy’s proposal in 2007 who wanted to create a ministry for immigration and national identity.

In trouble in the polls and less than three weeks before the first round of the presidential election, Éric Zemmour is trying everything for everything. The candidate proposes to create a ministry of “remigration”. At Reconquête!, the members hope that the return of divisive measures will make them go up in the polls, unless it produces the opposite effect.

With a ministry of “remigration”, Éric Zemmour is once again proposing a shock measure and wants to mark its singularity. Tuesday, traveling to Aulnay-sous-Bois in the Paris region, he developed his announcement: “Remigration, that means, return of immigrants who are not accepted in France, that means illegal immigrants, then delinquents, criminals , then the foreign S files. We can imagine 100,000 referrals per year”, he explained.

With this measure, Éric Zemmour wishes to reinstall immigration at the heart of the countryside. For him, it is not radicalization, but determination. Except that the term “remigration” has connotations, it is used above all by identitarians. In the candidate’s team, we don’t worry about it and we even draw a parallel with the standardization around the so-called great replacement theory.

And then, this announcement is reminiscent of the Ministry of Immigration and National Identity proposed by Nicolas Sarkozy in March 2007. A strategist confided: “In the media, everyone fell on him, but in the end , it was good for him.”
