Presidential: what the TV channels are preparing for the evening of the first round

Take out your diary: the television channels have formalized the program schedule for the election evening of April 10, for the first round of the presidential election. First, on TF1, the two star presenters Gilles Bouleau and Anne-Claire Coudray will reveal at 8 p.m. the names of the two qualified candidates for the second round. They will be surrounded by the channel’s political specialists. Journalists will also receive politicians and candidate spokespersons on set.

A classic program so far for the first channel. On the other hand, a fact exceptional enough to be underlined: TF1 does not plan election evening in prime time, from 9 p.m. Instead, viewers will be able to follow Jean-Marie Poiré’s comedy, Visitorswhich will air around 9:20 p.m.

A big election night on France 2

As for the France Télévisions group, France 2 is planning a live broadcast until midnight: access and prime time for the channel will be devoted to the results of this first round. For this, the two star presenters here too, Laurent Delahousse and Anne-Sophie Lapix, will take the air from 6:25 p.m. The 8 p.m. news will only last five minutes and will be brought forward to 7:25 p.m. To end with the public service, France 3 will broadcast an exceptional national edition of 19/20.

On M6, Nathalie Renoux will present an extended edition of 7:45 p.m. with RTL political journalist Olivier Bost. Finally, and contrary to what was announced by Cyril Hanouna, the C8 channel will not organize any special evening around the results of these elections, neither for the first round nor for the second. Instead, the eighth channel will offer a rerun of the film The Bidasses go to war in prime time on April 10.
