Eric Zemmour’s campaign team, cheerful at the idea of a possible rallying of Marion Maréchal, nevertheless remained evasive on this subject during Eric Zemmour’s trip to Sologne. The candidate spoke as soon as he arrived on a farm. “If you want to know what I think of this week, I would tell you that it’s a good week. Regarding Marion Maréchal Le Pen, time will tell,” said the former polemicist.
Anticipating the shock of a rally
In Eric Zemmour’s camp, Marine Le Pen’s entourage is suspected of having pressured Marion Maréchal to declare her intentions. According to an executive, this could be a way for the National Rally (RN) to anticipate the potential shock of a rallying of the niece of Marine Le Pen to the Reconquest party. A rallying which would have arrived much later according to several strategists. But they remain skeptical about the soap opera that is being created and around the image that possible family betrayals would give.
An identity line better embodied by Zemmour
Even if she is withdrawn from the RN, Marion Maréchal represents a conservative and identity line, which some believe has been badly treated by Marine Le Pen within her party in recent times. The candidate therefore faces a risk: that the supporters of this line are also tempted to join Eric Zemmour.
