Paris Saint-Germain defender Presnel Kimpembe has “seriously” injured an Achilles tendon and will be “unavailable until the end of the season”, announced his coach Christophe Galtier at the microphone of Prime Video on Sunday after the Parisian victory in Marseille 3-0.

End of the season for the defender of PSGPresnel Kimpembe. Out on injury during the Classico, the tricolor internation has “a big pain in the Achilles tendon”, said Galtier after the meeting. The defender had already missed the World Cup with an Achilles tendon injury in November and had recently returned to competition.

The 27-year-old French international injured himself while running and fell to the ground, prostrate, his head buried in the grass. The healers quickly understood that he could no longer resume his place on the lawn. “Kim”, who had been back from three months of injury for only three matches, came out in tears. He reappeared on crutches on the bench, at half-time, with a large brace around his right ankle.

Already hurt

He was replaced by the Portuguese Danilo Pereira (15th) in central defense for the end of this meeting, won by the Parisians thanks to Kylian Mbappé and Lionel Messi. If his absence until the end of the season were to be confirmed, he would have played only 15 matches in all competitions.

In November, he had however tried everything to be delivered in time for the World Cup, but had given up on the first day of the rally, replaced in the France team by Axel Disasi.
