In “Barefoot through Australia” (Das Erste), a hotel manager follows her daughter to the Australian outback. The ski jumper “Eddie the Eagle” (kabel eins) has blossomed from underdog to darling of the public. In addition, the vampire hunter “Van Helsing” (ZDFneo) declares war on Count Dracula.

8:15 p.m., The First, Barefoot Australia, Drama

Svenja (Anneke Kim Sarnau) is a hotel manager. She is currently bringing an aging hotel in Australia back into shape. But her biggest challenge is her 16-year-old daughter Kira (Amira Demirkiran), who has switched to complete denial. After another argument, Kira runs off to Jack (Tjirrdm McGuire). Jack is Aboriginal and Kira’s only friend. Together, the two young people go in search of their “special place”, their own special place. Svenja is beside herself with worry when she notices Kira’s disappearance and goes in pursuit with Jack’s father Kalti (Aaron Pedersen).

8:15 p.m., ZDF, The Woman in the Sea (2), crime thriller

After initial problems in Nordholm’s commissariat, Simon Kessler (Heino Ferch) and Lena Jansen (Isabell Polak) pull themselves together and investigate Thomas Haller (Stefan Kurt) and his wife Maria (Leslie Malton) for social fraud. There seem to have been falsified accounts for years that nobody noticed – except for Hella, who had an affair with Thomas. Like Hella (Barbara Auer), the Hallers own a boat that Thomas often used to travel the Baltic Sea.

8:15 p.m., kabel eins, Eddie the Eagle – Everything is possible, comedy

Michael “Eddie” Edwards (Taron Egerton) has a big dream. Once in his life he wants to take part in the Olympic Games. In order to fulfill this wish, Eddie tests one sport after the next. Even if he gets a lot of scorn for his unsportsmanlike conduct, he doesn’t let that dissuade him. When Eddie tries his luck at ski jumping, he meets Bronson Peary (Hugh Jackman), the 1968 Olympic champion – and gradually gets closer to his goal.

8:15 p.m., ZDFneo, Van Helsing, horror action

A Vatican secret society uses its best man for unusual cases: Gabriel Van Helsing (Hugh Jackman). His latest assignment takes him to the mountains of the Carpathians, to Transylvania. Here Count Dracula (Richard Roxburgh) is up to mischief and wants to use an invention by Dr. Frankenstein (Samuel West) bring his undead offspring back to life. With his armorer Carl, Van Helsing sets off on the hunt for Dracula and his three brides.

9:45 p.m., the first, sauerkraut coma, comedy

Provincial policeman Franz Eberhofer (Sebastian Bezzel) is exposed to new, nerve-wracking pressures: He is “transferred” to Munich – that means sharing a flat with his idiosyncratic buddy Rudi (Simon Schwarz) and his adversary Thin Lizzy (Nora Waldstätten) as boss. No wonder Franz wants to go back to Niederkaltenkirchen. Luckily, a woman’s corpse is soon found in Papa’s (Eisi Gulp) trunk, which leads Eberhofer back home and to Grandma’s (Enzi Fuchs) cooking pots.
