“Ramstein – The Pierced Heart” (Das Erste) tells of the air show disaster of 1988 and its aftermath. ZDF is showing “The Big ‘Terra X’ Show” and Bavarian delicacies are in demand on “The Taste” (Sat.1).

8:15 p.m., The First, Ramstein – The pierced heart, drama

On August 28, 1988, the US Air Force held their annual open house at Ramstein Air Base. Planned as the usual happy folk festival with a spectacular air show, the crash of three planes turned into a catastrophe with 70 fatalities and hundreds injured. The film tells of impressive fates: of victims who are seriously injured, of doctors who have to make difficult triage decisions and of families who lose loved ones.

8:15 p.m., ZDF, The big “Terra X” show, show

“40 years of Terra X” is an occasion to look into the archives of the successful brand. Highlights from four decades of documentaries from the farthest corners of the world are selected. It’s about science, history, mysteries and the most beautiful animal moments of the “Terra X” presenters. Johannes B. Kerner leads through the show – with the “Terra X” experts Mai Thi Nguyen-Kim, Andreas Kieling and Harald Lesch at his side.

In team cooking today, the candidates can serve delicacies from Bavaria under the watchful eye of guest juror Alexander Huber. How about a sweet treat or a typical specialty from the beer garden? In the solo cooking, Alexander’s secret ingredients Huchen, trout and Bavarian shrimp are then used until the decisive cooking finally says: “O’zapft is!” Who succeeds in making beer the star on the spoon?

Linda (Frances McDormand) and Chad (Brad Pitt), two not-so-clever employees at a Washington gym, one day get their hands on a mysterious CD-ROM. As it turns out, it belongs to former CIA employee Osborne Cox (John Malkovich) and contains supposedly sensitive information about the US secret service. The two fitness professionals sense the chance of a lifetime and decide to blackmail Cox. With their amateurish approach, however, the duo set a chain of hair-raising events in motion.
