“Das Haus”: Johann’s (Tobias Moretti) life is falling apart.

In “Das Haus” (Das Erste), Tobias Moretti fights right-wing extremists and a smart home that has gotten out of hand. On ZDF, Markus Lanz looks back on 2021 with prominent guests. Detective “Wilsberg” (ZDFneo) helps a colleague who has fallen out of favor.

Germany 2029. Together with his wife Lucia (Valery Tscheplanowa), the star journalist Johann Hellström (Tobias Moretti) withdraws to his fully digitized holiday home on an island in the Baltic Sea. Hellström has been banned from practicing his profession by a ruling populist party in Germany and is clinging to the hope of proving his innocence from his exile. When the political situation in the country changes due to a terrorist attack, the house, equipped with all digital refinements, suddenly goes crazy and begins to play its owners off against each other.

Markus Lanz looks back with guests from various social areas on the most important and emotional events of 2021. In addition to political decision-makers, doctors, journalists and prominent personalities who have achieved something special and will be remembered will also have their say.

8:15 p.m., RTL two, Buddy, the Christmas elf, Christmas comedy

Once the orphan Buddy (Will Ferrell) happened to end up in Santa’s gift sack and thus in Santa’s workshop at the North Pole. There he was trained to be an elf by his adoptive parents. Unfortunately he is now three times the size of his surrogate father; and so that Buddy does not have to eke out an outsider existence among the elves, he is sent to earth, where he is supposed to look for his true family. Not an easy undertaking, after all, Buddy doesn’t know his way around the urban jungle at all, which leads to a lot of turbulence.

8:15 p.m., ZDFneo, Wilsberg: 48 hours, crime thriller

When Overbeck (Roland Jankowsky) is asked by the criminal investigator to pick up his daughter after a visit to the disco, he does not allow himself to be asked twice. The attractive Juliane is celebrating the completion of her studies. Overbeck appears as agreed and wants to bring Juliane home. But it turns out differently. At dawn he wakes up in his car in the ditch. The service weapon has disappeared, he can’t remember anything. Has he been the victim of knockout drops? Wilsberg (Leonard Lansink) gets to the bottom of the matter.

8:15 p.m., cable one, Saving Private Ryan, war drama

Second World War, 1944: The Allies prepare to land on the Normandy coast. Captain John Miller (Tom Hanks) and his unit are supposed to break through behind the enemy lines to get the soldier James Ryan (Matt Damon) – the last survivor of four brothers – out. The Sonderkommando succeeds in penetrating deep into enemy territory, but Miller’s men increasingly question their orders.
