8:15 p.m., ZDF, murder in the family – The Rubik’s Cube (1), crime thriller

On New Year’s Day, Thomas Becker (Matthias Koeberlin), son of the powerful building contractor Henry Becker (Heiner Lauterbach), was shot in his car in a parking lot. Commissioner Barbara Falck (Sabine Winterfeldt) and her colleague Christian Krämer (Wolf Danny Homann) initially suspect a connection with the collapse of the “housing cube”. This is an ambitious building project by “Becker & Sohn” under the leadership of Thomas’ half-brother Eric (Lucas Gregorowicz). A young cleaner was killed in the collapse.

Berlin after the First World War: The capital of the young republic sinks into poverty, violence and chaos. In the middle, the world-famous department store of the West tries to assert itself as an oasis of luxury and beauty. On his return from the First World War, Harry Jandorf (Joel Basman) ends the armed robbery of department stores in a bloody way. The traumatized junior boss brings his willingness to take risks in the forefront of the ailing traditional house that his father Adolf Jandorf (Jörg Pose) runs.

8:15 p.m., RTLzwei, Cast Away – Lost, Robinson drama

Chuck Noland (Tom Hanks) is constantly on the road as the controller of a transport company – but his girlfriend Kelly (Helen Hunt) still stands by him. On a flight to the other end of the world, however, the machine crashes over the ocean. As the only survivor, Chuck can save himself on a desert island. Over time, he finds his way in the wilderness. He manages to survive, but it seems like there is no escape from the island.

The charcoal burner Peter (Frederick Lau) lives in the depths of the Black Forest. He is madly in love with the beautiful Lisbeth (Henriette Confurius), the daughter of the glassmaker Löbl. But as a poor charcoal burner, Peter can’t offer her much. Still, he doesn’t stop dreaming of a life with Lisbeth by his side. In his grief he meets a glass man (Milan Peschel) who grants him three wishes. This is how Peter gets bags full of gold coins, dance skills and the most beautiful glassworks in the Black Forest. Foolish wishes, as the glass man thinks! And it should be proved right, because Peter’s wealth does not last long.

10:15 p.m., ZDF, Angel Has Fallen, Action

The US president is seriously injured in an attack. The entire security team is wiped out, only his most loyal bodyguard survived the attack. But that makes Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) the main suspect. As more bogus evidence emerges, the Secret Service agent is on his own. He does everything to expose the masterminds of the conspiracy and to save the president. A first lead leads Mike to the security company of his friend Wade Jennings (Danny Huston).
