Romy (Christina Athenstädt) is facing a shocking hit-and-run charge: An eight-year-old boy was fatally injured by a car, and the fleeing driver remains unknown. Florian Peiske (Holger Bülow), the boy’s father, claims to have seen an emergency vehicle with flashing lights on the day of the accident that was traveling at excessive speed shortly before he reached the scene of the accident. The question of why the police did not follow up on this lead raises additional puzzles.

The bar owner Carolin Wörner (Monika Wegener) was shot. During the Napoleonic Wars, the highly decorated British captain Jack Aubrey (Russell Crowe) travels the world’s oceans with his research ship.
