The discounter Hofer recalled the product “Gourmet anchovy specialty – variety Provenciale” from the supplier VOG AG on Tuesday due to possible contamination with glass splinters. The sale was stopped immediately, Hofer said.
Products with a best-before date of October 26, 2023 are affected. The anchovies have been available in all Austrian branches since October. Consumption is not recommended. Consumers can return the anchovy specialty in all branches. The purchase price will also be refunded without a receipt. This warning does not indicate that the hazard was caused by the producer, manufacturer or distributor.
