Prime Video: only a few days left to see one of the best biopics of the 2000s

One of the best biopics of the 2000s, dedicated to the man who revolutionized modern technology, will soon leave the catalog of the Amazon Prime Video platform.

At first glance, the resemblance is not striking. And yet, it is an understatement to say that Michael Fassbender delivered one of the best performances of his career by lending his features to the founder of Apple in the film Steve Jobs, directed in 2015 by Danny Boyle.

Released two years after an anecdotal biopic with Ashton Kutcher, Steve Jobs also benefited from a script written by the brilliant Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network), based on the voluminous biography by Walter Isaacson.

Innovative in form, the feature film retraces the life of Steve Jobs in the minutes preceding the launch of the three main products that made him famous: the Macintosh 128K (1984), the NeXT Computer (1988) and the iMac ( 1998).

In addition to Michael Fassbender in the title role, Danny Boyle’s film was able to count on a prestigious cast including Kate Winslet (in the role of Joanna Hoffman), Seth Rogen (in the skin of Steve Wozniak, the co-founder of Apple) , or even Jeff Daniels (John Sculley).

Despite rave reviews and several prestigious awards (including two Golden Globes, as well as several Oscar nominations), the film did not meet with box office success.

Without being qualified as a failure, this biopic would however deserve to be re-evaluated by the public, but it will not take long to give it a second chance since Steve Jobs will definitively leave the catalog of the Amazon Prime Video platform on January 31. .
