It’s a big day for Prince Christian of Denmark: His confirmation is celebrated. His royal relatives accompanied him.

Prince Christian of Denmark (15) was confirmed on Saturday (May 15) in the Fredensborg Palace Church. The eldest son of Crown Prince Frederik (52) and Princess Mary (49) went to church with his parents and siblings, Princess Isabella (14), Prince Vincent (10) and Princess Josephine (10). There the family was received on the main staircase by Queen Margrethe II (81) and posed for photos. The 11am ceremony was presided over by the royal confessor and Bishop Henrik Wigh-Poulsen, 62.

The royal family appears perfectly coordinated with fashion

For the confirmation, Crown Prince Frederik’s family appeared fashionably perfectly coordinated in uniform colors. The gentlemen, Prince Frederik, Prince Christian and Prince Vincent, wore dark blue suits. Princess Mary was dressed in a dark blue dress with white polka dots. Princess Isabella wore a light beige trouser suit with a light blue top, Princess Josephine, like her mother, had a dark blue dress with white dots and – uniformly with her sister – a beige blazer. Margrethe II presented a bright red dress.

Prince Christian’s cousins, Prince Nikolai (21) and Prince Felix (18), were also present. Because of the corona pandemic, only 25 guests were able to attend the confirmation. Family members from abroad were therefore not able to travel. According to a message from the Danish royal family Fredensborg Castle Church has already served as the setting for several royal confirmations. Crown Prince Frederik was confirmed there 40 years ago.
