On Saturday, Prince Christian of Denmark will celebrate his confirmation. To mark the occasion, the royal family published some photos.

On Saturday (May 15), Prince Christian of Denmark (15) will be confirmed. The Danish royal family has some pictures for the occasion on Instagram which show the life of the eldest son of Crown Prince Frederik (52) and Princess Mary (49). The gallery begins with a photo of his baptism, followed by pictures of Prince Christian as a toddler, with his parents, siblings and other members of the family, including Queen Margrethe II (81). The last and most recent photo was taken last year for the Queen’s 80th birthday.

Due to the corona pandemic, only 25 guests present

The confirmation takes place in the castle church Fredensborg, as announced by the royal family last week. The service begins at 11 a.m., after which there will be a private celebration at Schloss Fredensburg. Because of the corona pandemic, only 25 guests are invited. This means that guests residing abroad cannot take part in the event, explained the Danish royal family. This means that the immediate family from France, Great Britain and Australia are not present either.

Crown Prince Frederik’s brother, Prince Joachim (51), and his wife Princess Marie (45), who live with their children in France, had to cancel “due to the current quarantine guidelines”. The same applies to Princess Mary’s father John (79) and his wife Susan Donaldson (81) from London. The family of Princess Mary from Australia is not able to attend the confirmation due to the travel restrictions.
