Prince George recently celebrated his tenth birthday. For this special occasion there should have been some luxurious gifts for the young heir to the throne.

Prince William, 41, and Catherine, Princess of Wales, 41, are known to be striving to help their three children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, grow up as normally as possible. When it comes to their offspring’s birthdays, however, the Prince of Wales and his wife don’t skimp. And relatives are only too happy to dig deep into their pockets for the young royals.

Prince George’s luxurious birthday gifts

On July 22, 2023, Kate and William’s firstborn celebrated his tenth birthday. Looking back at the gifts that George received from his relatives and acquaintances on his past anniversaries, it can be assumed that his first two-digit birthday also had some big surprises in store for the mini heir to the throne.

At the age of three, little George was “far too spoiled”, as Prince William once revealed with a laugh to a Royal fan, according to “The Sun” at a public meeting. No wonder, after all, he was given an 18-carat white gold bracelet designed by designer Theo Fennell when he was born. However, it was later auctioned off and the proceeds were donated to charity.

A playhouse and an orb for the first birthday

His grandfather, King Charles, 74, is said to have given him a particularly generous gift for his first birthday: a playhouse worth £18,000 (the equivalent of around 20,800 euros). It is said to have had a wood-burning stove and a day-bed and was placed at Charles’s home in Highgrove. Pope Francis gave him a less age-appropriate present. The 86-year-old gave George an orb made of lapis lazuli. According to “Associated Press”, Queen Elizabeth, † 96, is said to have joked at the time: “George will be happy … when he is a little older.”

Unforgettable are the pictures of the meeting between Barack Obama, 61, and the then two-year-old George. During a visit to Kensington Palace in April 2016, the US President delighted the heir to the throne with a beautiful rocking horse.

Prince George owns a miniature vintage car collection

This should have quickly lost interest in the Mini-Royal when he received an electric off-road vehicle as a gift from his uncle Prince Harry, 38, a year later. At the age of ten, however, George now owns a whole fleet of luxury cars that we can only dream of. It all started with a £100 tractor, when he was old enough he reportedly inherited his father’s dark green Aston Martin – miniature size of course. The child-friendly model of the James Bond classic is said to be capable of speeds of up to 30 km/h and is one of only 25 examples worldwide.

However, the funniest gifts still come from a good old family friend. Julia Samuel, 63, was a close friend of Princess Diana, †36, and revealed on the How to Fail podcast that she still upholds a tradition started by William and Harry’s mother. “I’m doing what with George [Diana] did with us: I give him impossible toys that are really loud and that require a lot of tinkering,” she explained, according to “The Mirror”. William then had to spend days “assembling all the machinery that makes horrible noises and flashes,” says Diana’s friend. Not only does it make her laugh, but also Prince George. And that might be the best gift for a little boy.
