The royal ate an ant with “shining eyes”

Little Prince George ate his first ant. The man who spurred him on to it tells of the unusual experience.
Prince George (8) ate his first ant two years ago. How it came about and what he has to do with it, told the British adventurer Bear Grylls (47) on Tuesday on the program “Good Morning Britain”.
Accordingly, his meeting with the future king took place on the sidelines of the King’s Cup regatta of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge – George’s parents – on the Isle of Wight in 2019. Back then, Prince George’s grandmother, Carole Middleton (66), asked Bear Grylls to greet her grandson because she knew George was a big fan of his Netflix interactive series “Running Wild”.
Prince George’s “eyes shone”
As the two were chatting, a stream of ants began to run over George’s feet. “I said to him, ‘Come on, let’s have some,'” said the adventurer. “Really?” George is said to have replied in disbelief. But he did go along with it and so Bear Grylls added: “It was a privilege to give the future king his first ant and his eyes shone like they do on anyone who is out in the wilderness and a few fears has and overcomes it. “
When presenter Susanna Reid asked what ants taste like, Grylls replied: “A bit spicy, but that’s the formic acid in the stomach and it’s all vitamin C, it’s okay.”
Public praise for the little prince
Bear Grylls had already divulged the story on the day of the King’s Cup. After accepting the trophy as part of the team for the animal welfare organization Tusk, the adventurer said, among other things: “Prince George, you ate your first ant today. And that’s a great moment too. Well done.”
Prince George is the first child of Prince William (39) and Duchess Kate (39), who have been married since 2011. They also had their daughter, Princess Charlotte, 6, and a second son, Prince Louis, 3.
