Duchess Meghan (42) and Prince Harry (38) have been living in Montecito, California, since 2020. However, the couple is reportedly looking for a new home in Malibu. They are said to have viewed a property right on the sea there, on which a new villa is currently being built. This is reported by the US celebrity portal “TMZ” citing several insiders.

The property is therefore a little less than 2.4 hectares in size and is said to be trading for around eight million US dollars. A pool is already in place, as is a guard house at the entrance to the property. In addition, the foundation for a villa of more than 900 square meters has been laid.

According to the report, the property is located on Broad Beach and offers a lot of privacy. The latter in particular is therefore a reason why Harry and Meghan could be interested. If they buy the property for $8 million, they would face an estimated cost of another $10 million for the mansion. The portal also shows the first images of the property and depictions of what the finished villa could look like.

But why Malibu?

According to the insiders, the prince and duchess are reportedly considering selling their Montecito estate where they live with son Archie, 4, and daughter Lilibet, 2 – and moving to Malibu entirely. There is a practical reason behind it, they say. Harry and Meghan would then live much closer to Hollywood, but still far enough away to protect their privacy.

Several weeks ago there had been reports that the two could be looking for Malibu. At least there is the idea of moving there, according to an anonymous source in July the celebrity magazine “Us Weekly” should have told.

Although Harry and Meghan loved life in Montecito, “it feels a little remote and removed from the city”. However, they are said not to have made a firm decision about moving at this point in time, as it was said. Another insider said they are casually looking for a possible new home in Malibu.
