Harry and Meghan’s visit to Canada ended with a chic gala. Before that there was some sport again.
Prince Harry, 39, and Duchess Meghan, 42, ended their three-day promotional tour for the 2025 Invictus Games in Canada on Friday evening. They attended a glamorous banquet in Vancouver. The British royal and the Canadian singer Michael Bublé, 48, had previously tried wheelchair curling.
Michael Bublé sang his version of “My Way”
The couple attended the “One Year to Go” dinner at the Vancouver Convention Center on Friday evening as part of the countdown celebrations. Harry was wearing a black suit, his wife had chosen an olive green, off-the-shoulder dress. Michael Bublé appeared as a guest star and sang his version of the hit “My Way”. The Canadian also emphasized how happy he was that “we can show Harry and Meghan how beautiful this place is.”
Harry then thanked the audience “for their presence tonight and for their commitment to making the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 possible.” The prince launched the sports competition for war-disabled soldiers and their relatives. According to People He emphasized during the gala: “When I am with the Invictus community, surrounded by so many brave men and women who have served their country with distinction, I feel humbled and at home.”
In 2024, his sporting event will celebrate a special milestone: “This year marks the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games. The past decade has been a testament to the power of resilience and the unbreakable spirit that you all embody. And boy, did we have a lot of fun along the way !” The Invictus Games are not just a competition, but also a whole way of life. For their two children, Archie, 4, and Lilibet, 2, the ducal couple received blankets woven by the Salish people.
Prince Harry tested three sports
Harry and Meghan attended the winter training camp for three days, where new sports were also introduced. In 2025, the Invictus Games will feature alpine skiing, snowboarding, biathlon, cross-country skiing, skeleton and wheelchair curling for the first time. The prince courageously tried out three sports: on Wednesday he completed a round of sit-skiing before daringly throwing himself down the ice channel on Thursday. On Friday he tried curling in a wheelchair with Michael Bublé. Meghan watched from the sidelines with the singer’s wife, clapping and smiling.
