Prince Harry writes in his autobiography that his brother William is said to have torn the chain from his neck during a heated argument. The piece of jewellery, which is said to be a gift from Harry’s ex-girlfriend Chelsy Davy, has been worn for years.

A few days before the release of Prince Harry’s autobiography “Spare” (German title: Reserve) more and more shocking revelations are coming to light. For example, Harry, 38, tells of a violent argument with his brother William, 41, in which he is said to have grabbed his collar and thrown him to the ground. The argument in which Prince William is said to have become violent took place in 2019 in London’s Nottingham Cottage, Harry’s home at the time, and Williams’ comments about Harry’s wife Meghan are said to have been the trigger.

Prince William tore the chain on Prince Harry’s neck during an argument

Prince Harry describes how Prince William “grabbed my collar, tore my necklace and … threw me to the ground”. The necklace Prince Harry has worn for years – a leather bracelet with a pendant – is believed to be a gift from his ex-girlfriend Chelsy Davy, 37. While the black leather strap kept peeking out from under his shirt, the silver pendant has rarely been seen. It is a wide ring knotted to the leather strap.

The Daily Mail refers to a March 2012 report that Chelsy Davy gave Harry the necklace at the beginning of their tumultuous relationship. In 2021, a second pendant was seen on the black leather strap for the first time; a silver A pendant. Likely a tribute to Harry’s first child, Archie, who was born in May 2019.

Chelsy Davy was Prince Harry’s first serious relationship

Princess Diana’s younger son, † 36, had an on-off relationship with Chelsy Davy for seven years. Shortly after the two became a couple in 2004, Chelsy is said to have given him the necklace, which he has continued to wear since their split in 2011. The two are said to remain friends to this day, with Chelsy also among the guests at Harry and Meghan’s wedding in May 2018. The 37-year-old, who was born in Zimbabwe, has been married to hotelier Sam Cutmore-Scott since last year, who – just like Harry and William – went to Eton College. The two have a son.
