The eternal search for happiness – and for a task

What is Prince Harry’s personal balance on his 39th birthday? He still doesn’t seem really happy.
Prince Harry turns 39 today, September 15th. He has an intense year behind him that, thanks to the Netflix documentary and autobiography, has taken him even further away from his royal family. But even in his new adopted home of California, not everything is going perfectly. And so the new year of life is likely to bring with it some challenges for the royal, who still seems to be looking for happiness three years after leaving the royal family.
A lot of sympathies were lost
Shortly before his wedding to Meghan (42) on May 19, 2018, Harry landed in first place as the most popular member of the British royal family in a survey by the opinion research institute Ipsos Mori. Now things look completely different: As Daily Mail reported in January, the Sussexes have lost a lot of popularity due to their actions over the past five years. Harry and Meghan are reaching an all-time low in sympathy. Her departure from Britain and the palace, as well as repeated attacks on the royal family, were not well received by many. And in his adopted home of the USA, Harry’s brother William (41) also ranks far ahead of Harry on the popularity scale.
Three years after the so-called Megxit, the 39-year-old is more isolated than ever: he is only in Great Britain on flying visits, a reconciliation meeting with his family seems a long way off, and he is said to have had no contact with William for months. The heir to the throne is said to be so horrified by Harry’s biography “Reserve”, which was published in January, that the question arises as to whether the brothers will ever get back together.
Difficult job prospects
Harry has caused a lot of scorched earth in Great Britain, and a number of prominent friends in the USA are also said to have turned their backs. Who still supports him and his wife now? What can happen next for the couple? Because professionally things aren’t going quite as well as the couple had imagined for their post-royalty period. Harry described it in his book “Reverve” – he had no real education and was raised to be dependent. How is he supposed to support himself and organize his life now? The Sussexes were betting on a million-dollar deal and allegedly wanted to create their own media empire. But in June it was announced that the collaboration with Spotify would be ended. Accordingly, there will be no second season of Meghan’s podcast “Archetypes”. And there is also a problem with the streaming service Netflix: After the successful Netflix documentary “Harry & Meghan” at the end of 2022, Harry’s new documentary “Heart of Invictus” about the Invictus Games sports competition he initiated, another production by the couple, falls far short of expectations is currently on hold due to the Hollywood strike. They’ve already told their most interesting stories – how they met, his past. In the next few years they will have to prove whether they can offer something beyond that.
There is also trouble with Harry’s commitment to the coaching platform BetterUp. Recently there were headlines about employees not knowing exactly what the royal was actually paid for. Officially he is part of the management, but when asked, colleagues were apparently unable to specify what his area of responsibility was exactly. The suspicion: Harry collects a lot of money (supposedly in the seven-figure range), but does very little in return.
Happy at the Invictus Games
None of this helps to polish his tarnished image. No matter what Harry and Meghan are currently doing, it seems that they have whined their way into the sidelines. In his autobiography, the son of King Charles III stated. (74) an insight into his soul, which is shaped by his special childhood, the constant observation by the media and the public, the early loss of his mother and the difficult relationship with his father. He revealed psychological problems that appear to have not been resolved to this day. You can’t shake the feeling that Harry is always looking – for happiness, for justice, for a purpose. During the Invictus Games in Düsseldorf he seemed noticeably happy and more relaxed than he had been in a long time. Perhaps this is where his possible future path lies: to focus less on private issues and instead engage in meaningful activities again.
