Prince Harry: why his return to the United Kingdom concerns him so much

This risks further complicating Prince Harry’s visit to his native land. This Tuesday, April 2, the English tabloid The Daily Express revealed that he had heard from anonymous sources close to the prince exiled in California that the latter feared a “serious risk for [sa] security” on the occasion of his upcoming visit to the United Kingdom. In question ? The disclosure by St Paul’s Cathedral in London of the date and exact time, May 8 at 5 p.m., of a ceremony organized in the building, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games and to which will attend the Duke of Sussex. However, this type of event, during which personalities from the royal family are likely to appear, are usually not revealed so explicitly to the general public. “Harry is aware of the risks to his safety, especially considering the sensitive information he shared in his memoir” explained the source to the tabloid, which for its part recalled that the prince had mentioned in his book The Substitute having killed 25 Taliban fighters during his service in Afghanistan.

Following this information, the prince and husband of ex-actress Meghan Markle fears being the potential target of a vendetta: “This is why his team has been so adamant that his whereabouts should not be disclosed. Whenever he has appeared at events in the UK in recent years, there had last minute announcements for this very reason. The fact that St Paul’s Cathedral published the exact time and date of an event he was due to attend on its official website weeks in advance is considered a serious safety risk” added the source. For its part, the cathedral denied having given any publicity to the event and claimed to have acted in the same way as usual. The prince, who for several months has been fighting to obtain better security, publicly funded, when he comes to the United Kingdom, should therefore call for greater protection for the occasion… but paid for out of his own pocket.
