Prince Joachim, 54, is moving further away from the Danish royal family. After moving to the USA, he now seems to be cutting his last ties to the kingdom. He is said to have sold his shares in the online shop “De 5 Gaarde” and resigned from the board. The online shop only sells regional products such as jam, oils, sweets, soap, juice and other specialties from Denmark. With the sale of his shares, the trained farmer seems to have finally closed the door to farming life, reports “Se Og Hør”.

Prince Joachim: There has been trouble in the family for a long time

In September 2022, Queen Margrethe, 83, announced that Prince Joachim’s children would no longer bear the title of prince or princess from 2023. This led to disagreements in the Danish royal family. Prince Joachim, the queen’s second-born son, publicly expressed his anger several times.

They first moved to Paris and have been living in the USA since September

In March 2023 it was announced that Prince Joachim, his wife Marie, 47, and their two children Count Henrik, 14, and Countess Athena, 11, would be moving from Paris to the USA. Since September 1, 2023, Prince Joachim has been working in the Danish Ministry of Defense as a Defense Industry Attaché at the Embassy in Washington, DC. The aim of this position is to strengthen defense industry cooperation between Denmark, the USA and Canada.

As long as they lived in Paris, royal experts considered it very likely that the family would return home at some point. With the move to the States and the sale of the house in Copenhagen in which her two children had grown up until the move to Paris, a return seemed significantly less likely. Now that Joachim has reportedly withdrawn from Denmark for business, most Royal fans will probably have to revise their confidence in returning home.
