Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake is doing well, according to Ubisoft

As you know, the passionate team at Ubisoft Montreal is reimagining this legendary story, and we are happy to announce that the project has successfully passed an important internal milestone. Development is progressing.“Last May, producer Jean-François Naud declared that the title was still in the design phase. The Montreal team wishes”take into account community feedback“during development and”preserve the feeling of evolving in a storybook“.

So okay, it’s not much to sink your teeth into, but it’s already more good news than for the bogged down Beyond Good & Evil 2 which hasn’t given any sign of life since February last due to a change in management team. The title is said to still be in pre-production.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was developed by Ubisoft Mumbai and Ubisoft Pune before changing hands. QA studios by expertise, they had to get their hands on this well-defined project to improve their skills; unfortunately, the visual rendering deemed insufficient by fans led Ubisoft to play it safe by withdrawing the project from them after several postponements. In the meantime, fans of hourglasses and somersaults in pseudo-Persia will be able to fall back next January on the metroidvania Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.

Still no date for this re-remake which will continue to marinate slowly internally. Given the temporality, The Sands of Time should be released on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S (to be confirmed).
