From 1949 to 1951, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip lived in Malta, as the latter was then stationed on the island as an officer in the Royal Navy. During a visit in 2015, the Queen revealed: “Visiting Malta is always something very special for me. I remember happy days here with Prince Philip when we were just married”. It was probably the “most normal” time of their life together.
