The grief is written on Queen Elizabeth, 94, on the face as she gets out of the car to attend the funeral of Prince Philip († 99), her beloved husband. According to the Daily Mail, the Queen is said to have carried one of his Kent & Haste handkerchiefs in her Launer handbag in honor of Philip. The white cloth was a trademark of the prince, which he carried folded into a square in his breast pocket. But Queen Elizabeth did not only pay tribute to her deceased husband with a cloth handkerchief, according to the insider, a very personal picture is also said to have been in the monarch’s black handbag.

From 1949 to 1951, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip lived in Malta, as the latter was then stationed on the island as an officer in the Royal Navy. During a visit in 2015, the Queen revealed: “Visiting Malta is always something very special for me. I remember happy days here with Prince Philip when we were just married”. It was probably the “most normal” time of their life together.
