A week ago, King Charles III. (74) crowned in London’s Westminster Abbey. Great Britain celebrated the monarch and his wife, Queen Camilla (75), for three days. Of course, his first-born son, Prince William (40), and his wife, Princess Kate (41), were also an important part of the celebrations. On their YouTube channel, William and Kate released a new video on May 13 where they give some insights in just under five minutes.

Behind the scenes of the coronation weekend

The approximately five-minute short film by filmmaker Will Warr is entitled “The Coronation Weekend / Behind the Scenes with the Prince and Princess of Wales”. The British heir to the throne, his wife and their children – Prince George (9), Princess Charlotte (8) and Prince Louis (5) – can be seen in the clip right at the beginning with other family members on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

Among other things, there are scenes with waiting royal fans who were personally greeted by Charles, his son and his wife on the boulevard “The Mall” one day before the coronation ceremony. After images of a reception, the coronation day is opened in a contemplative manner in the short film. To the sound of anticipation, William and his family get into a car that will take them to the ceremony where his father was crowned.

Impressive shots of the subsequent procession then lead back to the balcony where King Charles III, Queen Camilla and the other royals present themselves to the people. It continues with an insight into the preparations for the big coronation concert last Sunday, where stars like Katy Perry (38), Lionel Richie (73) and Take That performed. Also included are pictures from Monday’s “Big Help Out” – an extra holiday dedicated to helping each other try and tackle new things.
