Prince William mourns murdered ranger Anton Mzimba on social media. He was “deeply saddened”.

Prince William (40) has himself on twitter reported with an emotional message. He mourns the loss of an acquaintance. William was “deeply saddened” when he “learned about the murder of Anton Mzimba”. He last spoke to the ranger in November.

“Dedicated and courageous rangers like Anton are central to the conservation of Africa’s amazing wildlife,” William wrote in memory of the keeper. He hopes that those responsible “will be held accountable as soon as possible”. His thoughts are with Mzimba’s family.

Conservation is a major concern for William

Anton Mzimba was one of the senior rangers at the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve in the South African province of Mpumalanga, as per the official website. William, who is an avid conservationist, and Mzimba last met on a conference call in November. They spoke about the difficulties rangers face in combating poaching.
