Prince William, 40, Duchess Catherine, 40, and their three children together, Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4, are entering a new chapter in their lives. With the move comes some changes.

Until now, William and Kate have lived in part of Kensington Palace in London. Her new home is about an hour from the bustling metropolis at the Queen’s Berkshire country estate, which is her main residence. Since the death of her husband, Prince Philip, † 99, the 96-year-old has spent most of her time on the 900-year-old property. With an area of 484,000 square meters, it is not only the perfect retreat for the monarch, but also offers enough space for grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to Windsor Castle, where the Queen lives, there is also Adelaide Cottage in the country. It is believed that Prince William and Duchess Catherine will share this with their children. The house is only a ten-minute walk from the castle and is designed to make life easier for the small family. The four-room residence was built in 1831 for Queen Adelaide of Saxe-Meiningen and was previously occupied by Peter Townsend, †80, equerry to King George VI.

Plenty of fun activities for George, Charlotte and Louis

But George, Charlotte and Louis are not only within walking distance of their great-grandmother, their new school is also said to be not far from Adelaide Cottage. Prince George and Princess Charlotte previously attended Thomas’s Battersea School in London. According to information from the “Daily Mail”, nine-year-old George has already had a taster day at his new school in Berkshire.

The new home of the Cambridges also offers numerous opportunities when it comes to leisure activities. Far away from the noisy capital, the kids can play outdoors and explore the surrounding gardens, go for a walk with the dog Orla or go horseback riding. On your doorstep is Windsor Great Park, a perfect place for a picnic or a family bike ride, at the Obelisk Lawn the children can let off steam in the playground and in the fenced Deer Park you can watch the 500 free-roaming deer.
