Prince William, 41, is back in public after a break of several weeks – and with a bang. On the one hand, the heir to the British throne thanked him for his outpouring of sympathy after King Charles III, 75, was diagnosed with cancer. On the other hand, he met Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise, 61, at an event on February 7th.

On Monday, the palace announced that Charles had been diagnosed with “a form of cancer” during tests following prostate surgery. This Wednesday, William attended public appointments again for the first time since the bad news. First, he presented more than 50 honors at Windsor Castle, before a gala dinner by London’s Air Ambulance Charity was on the program for the heir to the throne that evening.

William has been a patron of the organization since March 2020. When he arrived, the prince was also asked about his father, according to Daily Mail royal expert Rebecca English. in clips on Twitter. William apparently replied on behalf of all the relatives: “We really appreciate everyone’s goodwill. Thank you very much.”

Tom Cruise is also a supporter

The prince then met with real Hollywood royalty on site. Show more clips the Royal, among others, in conversation with Tom Cruise. Despite all the adversities of the last few weeks, William appears to be very tidy on the outside – as he did with previous honors.

For William, however, it is anything but a carefree time at the moment. Charles’ eldest son is expected to take over many of his father’s public duties. The king, who is already undergoing treatment, is currently said to be recovering at the Sandringham estate alongside Queen Camilla, 76. On the recommendation of doctors, the monarch should not attend any public appointments during his treatment, but he will take care of state affairs in the background, the palace said.

Princess Kate, 42, William’s wife, is also unable to help out at the moment. After an operation on her stomach, she will probably be out until Easter. William recently took a few weeks off to look after Kate and their children Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5.
