Prince William: He wants to help and do "his duty" as a pilot

Prince William (37) is said to want to get back into the helicopter cockpit to help out during the corona crisis. The British tabloid "The Sun" reports citing an insider. According to him, he wants to fly medical helicopters again for the National Health Service (NHS), the UK's state health system.

The Prince was trained at the Royal Air Force's Defense Helicopter Flying School in 2009 and 2010. He then flew several years as a co-pilot rescue operations. However, after the birth of his first son Prince George (6), he ended his military career.

He thinks "seriously about it"

According to the paper, William said privately that he wanted to fly again to help the relief workers during the Corona crisis. The anonymous source says: "William is seriously considering returning as a rescue pilot during the current pandemic." The prince knew that "the whole country was doing its part" – and he wanted that too.

However, the situation is complicated because it is not certain whether the role can still be reconciled with its royal duties. What his wife, Duchess Kate (38) thinks about it is also unknown.
