Princess Beatrice: With her wedding ring she breaks the royal tradition

Princess Beatrice has been a married woman since Friday. The ring that is on her finger is something very special.

Princess Beatrice (31) gave her Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi the last Friday. As a sign of marriage, the 36-year-old put a ring on his loved one's finger that hardly conforms to royal tradition, but is still beautiful.

The businessman designed both the engagement and the wedding ring together with the British jeweler Shaun Leane (51) in "five to six" sessions. This now reveals to the US magazine "People": The wedding ring should "fit the engagement ring aesthetically and intertwine with it". For this, the groom chose platinum instead of gold. Since the wedding of Queen Elizabeth (1900-2002), the Queen Mother, in 1923, Welsh gold has always been used for the wedding rings of all members of the Royal Family.
