Touching footage from London: Princess Charlotte has to say goodbye to her beloved great-grandmother. She can’t help but shed a few little tears – but luckily Mama Kate is always close to her.

As the world bids farewell to a woman unlikely to ever be seen again, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince George, 9, grapple with the loss of their beloved “Gan Gan” before the eyes of the world. They put up a braver fight than probably many other children their age – considering that millions of people watched the Queen’s state funeral live on television. But in an unnoticed moment, Charlotte understandably couldn’t hold back her tears.

Full of sadness, the little princess touches her face to hide her tears from the eyes of onlookers. It is the sadness, the excitement and the nervousness that come together here – for the seven-year-old today is an absolutely exceptional situation.

Catherine, Princess of Wales, 40, knows this too, and is immediately on the spot when her daughter bursts into tears and gently pulls her to calm her. Prince George also keeps a close eye on his little sister. In these hours, the royal family is sticking together!

Queen Elizabeth is buried with her family present

A large state funeral was held in Westminster Abbey in honor of Queen Elizabeth on September 19, 2022, to which around 2000 guests from all over the world were invited. After a procession to Wellington Arch, her body will now be taken to Windsor, where another service will be held in St George’s Chapel with 800 invited mourners before the Queen is buried in a small, intimate circle on Monday evening. A moment when Princess Charlotte can say “Goodbye” to her beloved “Gan Gan” for the last time.
